Single-point mooring (SPM) Installation
Single-point mooring (SPM) systems allow for the expansion of existing refineries and the construction of new ones in locations where vessel draught would otherwise be a problem. SPMs allow very large crude carriers (VLCCs) to unload offshore at a specialist mooring buoy and pump crude oil to an onshore refinery without having to tie up at a dock. SPMs are also used to load crude onto tankers direct from offshore drilling platforms.
Medwell installs and maintains SPMs from delivery and floating, through anchoring, commissioning and operation. We understand that different locations require appropriate anchor and hawser systems to cope with local sea and weather conditions and we approach every project with adaptability in mind.
Onshore Wellhead Maintenance and Services
A robust onshore wellhead maintenance schedule is key to keeping oil and gas flowing upstream. A typical Medwell contract for wellhead maintenance includes annulus pressure testing and diagnostics, XMAS tree valve testing and lubrication, pressure testing, void testing and monitoring and SCSSV bleed back volumes.
We also undertake tree cap O-ring replacement, burst disc replacement, actuator servicing, valve (including ball valves) installation, replacement and servicing, repair to protective coatings and subsidence monitoring.
just because your wellheads are onshore doesn’t mean that access is always straightforward. Our teams are familiar with all access issues that may arise in hostile environments from wetlands to deserts to forests and even agricultural land where access must avoid damage to crops and maintain good relationships with rural communities.
Subsea Services
Owing to the hazardous conditions of subsea work, Medwell never considers any project here to be “typical”. Whether carrying out a project using ROVs or professional divers, we put crew safety on top of the agenda.
The projects we undertake include statutory inspections, monitoring, equipment and installation modifications and repair as well as preventative maintenance campaigns. We work on platforms, pipelines, wellheads, manifolds, transfer systems, jack-ups and drillships across the entire lifecycle from installation and commissioning, through operations to decommissioning, demolition and removal.
Our teams of divers are experts in risk management during both saturation and bounce dive operations and are kept up-to-date with all HSE certifications and accreditations.
